Marsala is actually an Indian spice, which is bold and radiant in color. The color is a rich, reddish-brown shade that is inspired by Sicilian wine. Pantone continues to describe the color as robust, earthy, sophisticated, hearty, stylish and fulfilling. Many say that the color will not be one that takes over the fashion industry, but one that compliments garments with splashes and accents. Marsala will bring warmth to whatever it touches throughout the year.

I’m extremely excited to see what designers and stylists will do with this unique in 2015. I already have a few pieces in my closet that I’ve thrifted throughout the years in this shade. Time to dust them off and create some sleek looks with this color. I’m not big on color, but I can appreciate the richness and warmth associated with this new color of the year. So, I’ll give it a shot and feature it in an outfit of the day post. I’m already planning to use the color while styling one of my first editorials of the year. There is a lot that I can do with it! Don’t you agree? What do you guys think about Marsala as the ultimate color of the year?
