Gucci Resort 2018

Pulling inspiration from Ancient Classical periods in history, Alessandro Michele revealed another collection under Gucci where his extravagance can be appreciated. Weaving in classical elements with pieces of history from the 60s, 70s and the Renaissance happens to be the key successor of this collection. We saw an array of colors that were derived from royal palettes, consisting of rich purples, golden hues, canary yellows, royal reds and nautical blues. After reviewing the collection, I saw a fusion of cultures and time periods in every look- which added fascination and stimulation for any fashion lover like myself. The accessories made each look- adding excessiveness to the embroidered, bedazzled and woven pieces throughout. Michele added heavy elegance through the outerwear pieces within the collection- featuring fur chubbies, elongated bomber jackets, silk blazers and woven cardigans. We saw the consistent fusion that Gucci continuously brings- nerdy meets elegance, trends meet classics, and children meet adulthood. Pulling inspiration from various cultures, ethnic backgrounds, previous designers, and meaningful time periods- Gucci outdoes itself all over again. Signing off.

This runway show was everything.
I can’t say that enough.
I have a huge appreciation for Wu’s excellent mixture of women’s suiting, frame accenting dresses, compelling outerwear pieces, and more.
Almost every look hit home for me.
Sexy. Sensual. Sophisticated.

Wu name dropped Catherine Deneuve as his muse for this collection,
Which is beautifully obvious.
I mean, come on.
Wu has completely channelled her effortless glamour throughout his collection.
Women who know real style are gawking over the collection like I am.

If I had the chance to own any pieces from the collection,
I’d need a few of these furs.
Look at them!
They’re rich, detailed, and to die for.
Regardless of what the furs were used for- as a stole over a dress, or underneath a fine coat…
Fur stole the show.

I love the cinched waists that filled the runway.
I think this adds to the femininity and sexiness.
That man also knows how to produce a clean-cut trouser.
They fit the models effortlessly,
Not too loose or too tight.

It’s all in the details.
The details are killing me.
They add to the glam factor associated with this collection.
From cinched waists to the layering to the precision and details…
We see a high level of expertise in this collection.

You know I’m loving this surprise crocodile that popped up.
High quality and luxurious.
The color is amazing and the styling was impeccable.

The low necklines are extremely well done, exuding the perfect amount of cleavage.

This sheer dress had to be one of my favorite pieces on the runway.
Black always wins for me.
The long sleeves, high neck and mid length made this dress dramatic.

But, look at this coat.
Perfection.

Some have said that Wu played it safe…
I’d say he’s outdone himself.
I’d feel glamorous wearing any piece from this collection.
I’m in love with it.

Antonio Berardi Pre-Fall 2015 Collection

Antonio Berardi released his Pre-Fall 2015 Collection recently, and I’m extremely impressed. I find it fascinating how far in advance the fashion world is. I mean, we’re just wrapping up December 2014, and there are fall collections being released for 2015. Amazing! While browsing through Style.com, I came across this collection and had to take a closer look.

image

I can appreciate the collection based on the fact that it is inspired by menswear and suiting. All of the looks were tailored and clean cut, but were all exceptionally fashionable to say the least. If you know me, you also know that a fashion ‘turn-on’ for me includes clean cut looks. I always gravitate towards clean, structured pieces.

image

Each look was designed with an evident appreciation for structure, angles, and fine lines. The shape of each piece creates an illusion that also makes each piece unique.

image

The collection is timeless and full of class. There is no sense that the designer wanted to follow a trend of any sort. He decided to take his own route and developed a sophisticated collection for women who are on the go.

image

I love the fact that the pieces were made to withstand time. They exude feelings of class and sophistication.

image

The fabric used to create the collection views to be extremely durable, thick and rich. This adds to the timelessness that the collection brings. The prints chosen flow well with the solid pieces. I’m usually afraid of print, but I think that these prints chosen are delicious!

image

Of course my favorite pieces were the tuxedo dresses and all of the outerwear. From full coats to blazers, everything was exquisite.

image

I also fell in love with the scenery that was chosen for the shooting of the collection. I think it reflects a woman who is on the go. The model was gorgeous, and her posing was excellent. She was full of movement, something you don’t see too often these days.

image

This is one of my favorite collections that I’ve viewed this week due to the fact that it holds versatility with every piece. I’d rock just about everything from the collection, these pieces belong in my closet.

What do you guys think about Antonio Berardi’s new collection? I’m dreaming of the day that I’ll own something from this fabulous collection!
